Purpose:

This is a project by the Canadian Cancer Society of Manitoba. The primary goal of this province-wide mass media campaign called "Quit Now Manitoba" is to increase by 10 percent the number of people who call the Manitoba Smoker's Helpline (1-877-513-5333) to help them quit smoking. The campaign will reach lower socio-economic status adults aged 25 to 55, and individuals in rural Manitoba. The funding will be used to disseminate mass media materials (television, radio, print) and to collect valuable evaluation data on reach, effectiveness, behaviour and attitudinal changes regarding smoking cessation within the population of Manitoba.
